Japanese Kimonos

These Kimonos are called "uchikake." It is a type of kimono that is heavy, thick, and ornate with celebratory embroydary. These days, Uchikake is almost only wore at the Japanese (often Shinto-style)wedding ceremony. I had a wedding ceremony in Japan this summer and this is a picture of Uchikake displayed when I was trying to pic one! As I google Uchikake, to look into the explanation for it, I found these websites.
